Network is a satire of the US media industry, in which the long time anchor of UBS Evening News, Howard Beale learns that he is going to be fired. Distressed he announces live on TV that he is going to kill himself and goes on ranting tirades. Surprisingly it is a success and he is encouraged to continue. Producer Diana Christensen takes advantage of this to propose even more extreme ideas.
