Tampopo (1985)

One evening, Goro and Gun, two truckers dressed like cowboys, happen to end up at Tampopo's ramen shop somewhere outside Tokyo. Since the death of her husband, Tampopo has been a single mother and has to keep the struggling shop running on her own. One of the regular customers loudly complains about the poor quality of the noodles and insults the cook. Even though Goro doesn't like the soup either, he defends her and the evening ends in a brawl. Tampopo asks Goro for help and so begins their joint search for Japan's perfect ramen recipe. This is accompanied by culinary side stories, scenic tidbits that always deal with food, often in combination with sex.
