BRØD OG SIRKUS II
Willkommen, bienvenue, welcome
Im Cabaret, au Cabaret, to Cabaret:
With bread and circus the show never ends, so come to see cabaret - where hate and fascism increases to melodies of nightclubs and cheers. To those ignoring the rise of hate and violence a Nazi is nothing more than another customer to entertain. Serving as a historical narrative and a warning of ignoring growing racist and fascist sentiments, the film takes a look into how the lgbt-progressive Berlin transformed into the Nazi epicentre. Using music and entertainment as a vehicle for exploring this theme, Bob Fosse has directed a film that both entertains and disturbs generations.
With the rise of authoritarianism and fascism in recent years this film is more important than ever - because current events mirror those of the past, and never again meant never another genocide: not yes to another against the people in Palestine.
