Wings of Desire (1987)

In Wings of Desire we follow around the angels of Berlin, shortly before the fall of the Berlin wall. Only children can see them, but the angels are ever present and will listen to the mumble of your thoughts, and make you feel their presence when you need an angel the most. But angels fall in love too, and angels want black coffee too, and sometimes eternity is not really as exciting as being now, and being in love.

Wim Wenders’ Wings of Desire is a philosophical and tender movie about being alive and being human, and about all the love we have around us, and everything we have in common. Beside that, Wings of Desire is also a poetically and visually beautiful movie, a great love story and a glimpse into Berlin in the 1980’s.
