Four strangers travel North in search of a mysterious elephant, leaving their complicated lives behind them as they go. 

The first and final feature film by the late director Bo Hu, "An Elephant Sitting Still" delves into a sadness at the heart of its four protagonists, characters who, disinterested in staying in the world as it has become, opt instead to search for meaning in the misty landscape of rural China.
