The Running Man – 35mm

Set in a dystopian version of 2017-2019 United States, this film envisions a reality where the government keeps the population pacified with violent reality TV. Much like the antique traditions of gladiator fights, the audience watch and cheer for violence and murder as spectacle while ignoring their reality of life within a totalitarian police-state. In the most popular reality show “the Running Man”, those deemed criminals, also called “runners”, have to run and hide from trained mercenaries or “stalkers”. The prize for loosing? Death. The prize for winning? A tropical vacation and a government pardon for all crimes.
